The Lost Symbol

I just finished The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown. I'm not going to give *many* spoilers here, except to say that I knew the instant I read "pudgy," that girl was going to die. Why do they always kill the "chubby" girl? And let the beautiful-skinned, yet absolutely dense, Mediterranean girl live?

Was the book good? Eh, it was a Dan Brown book. They tend to be highly formulaic (see this website for a Dan Brown plot generator: showing here). I liked it because "I've been there." Not the chased by a maniac "been there." But, been there in DC. I've been to the Library of Congress and the Capitol Dome. I've been to the Washington Monument and the Smithsonian. Been there!
