As you can see in the x-ray below, the break is pretty bad. She is in a lot of pain (even on those huge pain pills!) and can't walk. Justin has to carry her outside for potty breaks. We think our full-time vet will recommend orthopedic surgery tomorrow when we take her in, which means pinning the bone and securing the break with wire. That is a lot for a dog, Justin, and Justin's wallet to go through, especially at her age. We may just have to put her down.
Don't worry about us though! We will be okay. We have explained to the kids that Bengie was hurt very badly. And, Ethan will be bribed with his weight in Transformers, licorice, and *gulp* a lizard(?!?!) to help ease his pain.

Poor doggy. That little bone looks like it hurts. Tell Roo good job with the pacifier thingy;))
This is a sad way to have it all end up. Dogs are so expensive...it's another notch on Jeff's side of the argument. Dang it.
As for lizards, I can recommned some good ones and we would be very happy to help you set up his or her vivarium (that's the fancy word for tank.) Let me know. :)
